Maurice Price

Incisive Financial Understanding

PROFILE - MAURICE PRICE

Maurice has worked in the Statutory and Voluntary Sectors for 28 years; 11 of these as CEO in a variety of Voluntary Sector Organisations.

Each of these CEO roles had turnaround themes - long-standing financial and operational pressures that were coming to a head at the time of his appointment.

In the Statutory Sector his time was dedicated to working alongside Charities, facilitating their work with Government and Community organisations.

"I was somehow drawn to difficult situations. After years of working indpendently I was building quite a toolkit of practical techniques which I knew worked. But when I heard Brian Warnes on Radio 4 I realised there was someone else who had travelled a similar path but had begun their journey perhaps some 20 years earlier. His introducing me to Bottom Line Impact was like finding the final pieces in some giant jigsaw."

Maurice has subsequently sought to introduce this way of thinking to the Staff, Trustees and beneficiaries of the charities he's worked with.

As well as managing charities, Maurice has also been invited on to Trustee Boards largely because of his proven ability to successfully implement (what has come to be known as) Full cost Recovery in challenging environments.

In addition Maurice has:

  • Mentored new and experienced CEOs of charities - settling them into the role or being available as a sounding board as they saw through significant change in their organisations
  • Initiated a new Government Regulatory regime in partnership with Voluntary Sector Organisations
  • Initiated Quality and Finance systems into Charities; establishing the true cost of service provision and providing a structure for Boards and CEOs to restore the financial health of the organisation
